Talking about the things of God

This talking with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs indicates what the topics of our discussions should be. Rather than reasoning and arguing about our problems and our opinions, the Word of God encourages us to focus our attention on spiritual realities, on the things above, which are not seen but which are eternal.

This does not mean that we must close our eyes or bury our heads in the sand so as not to see the problems or needs of material things, but that we must have the right priorities, seeking first the Kingdom and the justice of God, certain that our Father will provide for our every need.

This talking about the things of God must be exercised not only to preach to non-believers but also to edify believers. When we talk about the things of God, we can be sure that the time is always well spent; we will come out of it blessed and strengthened in faith, hope, and love.
