The Confidence of Hope and the Pain of Separation

The Promise of Resurrection

We are united with Christ not only in His death but in His resurrection. One day, we too will rise, just as He did. Our loved ones who have gone before us are merely asleep in the Lord, awaiting the day of resurrection. This is the ultimate hope we hold onto—the hope of bodily resurrection and eternal life with Jesus.

This promise changes everything. It shifts our focus from the finality of the grave to the hope of a new life. As Christ was raised, so too will we be, and this is the hope that anchors our souls in the midst of sorrow. Grief may endure for a season, but joy will come in the resurrection.

Reflection:

How does the promise of resurrection give you peace in the midst of your grief?

The Confidence of Hope and the Pain of Separation

Grief is an emotion that touches the deepest parts of our souls, and this has been profoundly true for me since I lost my precious 21-year-old daughter, Jenita, on July 14th, 2024. And yet, as I walk this painful road, I find myself held by a hope that does not disappoint—a hope rooted in Christ.
