The Road of Blessing: Listen to Jesus

Paul’s first letter to the church in Corinth did not stop the problems in the church. He was in Ephesus when he received word that false teachers continued to speak to the church, impugning Paul’s character and authority. Paul chose to make a quick trip to

Corinth, which did not go well. He continued to write to this congregation, hoping to convince them of the importance of unity and faithfulness to the Gospel. He urged them to continue sanctification by listening to and walking in the message of Christ.

For Sanctification: Just as Paul taught that sin should be demolished in the church, so should it be demolished in the Church, the body of Christ. Satan will always attack and ask us to accept ideas about God or his word that “stand against the knowledge of Christ” and hinder people from accepting the truth of the Gospel message. Pray, study, and come to agreement with the direction of God’s Spirit through his word.
