His Spirit & His Church - For our good, for His glory

Jesus says it is for our good that He left, which may not make sense to us, as it didn’t for the disciples. Wouldn’t you rather have a visible Jesus in front of you who you could point to when people asked, “in whom do you believe”? But the truth Jesus knew was that instead of being around His believers, if He left God would send His Spirit to live IN His believers at all times, always being a source of help and comfort. This promise is still true to the church today.

How does having the Spirit help the church today?
1) The Spirit will help convict the world in unbelief,
2) Help the church example righteousness and
3) remind us that the devil has been defeated and victory is won!

The Spirit is the church’s most important and vital means to be effective in bringing glory to God in the world today.

Prayer -
• May your Spirit live in your people directing us so that we may believe, example righteousness, and live victoriously
• Help us understand how much of a gift having the Holy Spirit is, living each day aware of His helping council

Thanksgiving -
• Thank you, God, that you have given us the means to bring you glory through the Spirit
• Thank you that the Spirit is available to every individual who believes and asks, drawing each deeper into relation with you
