Eternal Life - Through Jesus for the glory of God

The prayer Jesus makes here reveals two things for the believers to know in the world today. Firstly, He examples the heart we must have, one that desires to bring glory to God. It’s easy to chase glory in a world all about promoting the self and seeking out praise and adoration on social media platforms through hollow platitudes. However, we are called to bring glory to God so that any praise we receive should be redirected to our true source; Jesus.

The second thing we read here is that Jesus has been given the authority to grant eternal life. In a world where universalism seems like an attractive option, the Word points to Jesus as the only one who has the authority to grant salvation and eternal life. May we as the church introduce as many as we can in the world to Him.

Prayer -
• May your church, Lord, bring you glory so that you may be glorified
• Help us tell the people of this world that you are the way, the truth, and the life

Thanksgiving -
• Thank you, Jesus, for exampling for us the way to live
• Thank you for the gift of eternal life
