Faithfulness and Perseverance Àpẹrẹ
A BEAUTIFUL FUTURE
There is a unique type of butterfly called the “King/Monarch butterfly”. Its hobby is eating poisonous shrubs. As a result, predators avoid it. Uniquely, every year, these butterflies become caterpillars and pupae in Canada. After becoming butterflies, this group of insects will migrate to Mexico, which is approximately 4,500 km away at a speed of 80 km per day. Amazing!
An interesting sight occurs in Canada when the caterpillars turn into cocoons. The life in the cocoons hanging from the shrubs seemed silent. There is no visible life behind the membrane covering it. A few days later, the cocoon opens. Metamorphosis reaches its peak. A butterfly slowly comes out of it. It then learns to flap its wings. When its wings are dry enough, the butterfly will keep flapping its wings until it can fly away. The butterfly will then fly south towards Mexico, where it will join millions of other monarch butterflies.
Our lives may one day appear like a still, static cocoon as if there is no progress. From inside that cocoon, we may see that everything is pitch black. The future looks bleak. We can't do anything. But don't stop there. Keep living those times with hope, because when the cocoon opens, everything will be changed immediately.
The monarch butterfly's direction and purpose are certain. When we are faithful in the process, we need to believe that we are also moving towards a definite goal - even though sometimes we don't seem to have achieved anything positive. Sometimes, we are unable to see the movement or determine the direction. However, we need to believe that God provides a wonderful future for us. Our part is to be faithful in His process and believe that God's promises will be fulfilled in His time.

Faithfulness and perseverance are very important in spiritual life. God wants us to be faithful in both small and big things. God also wants us to live perseveringly so that we can become more perfect before Him.
