Faithfulness and Perseverance Àpẹrẹ
LITTLE BY LITTLE
Embroidery is a form of decoration made on cloth with a braid of decorative threads on it. These decorative threads can be wool, linen, silk, cotton, or rayon. The art of embroidering has existed since the 5th century BC during the Qin dynasty in China. People are diligently working on this exquisite work of art. Currently, embroidery can also be done with a sophisticated machine. However, there are similarities to this embroidery technique, both in the past and the present, namely the pattern of pictures or writing that is embroidered little by little.
The same is true with life. Like embroidery, this life is woven little by little as if it is an embroidery. However, we often forget the meaning. We tend to want things to happen quickly or be done as soon as possible. Even we might often become impatient to do it while we are seeking the will of God.
Abraham is another example of the embroidery of faith and patience. Abram, who soon changed his name to Abraham, was already 75 years old when God called him to leave Haran. Of course, this was not easy for Abraham. However, with faith and perseverance, Abraham made his way to the Negeb. The Bible does not say that Abraham did this in a day. God's Word says that "The farther he walked to the Negev." He walked slowly forward in the embroidery of God's plan. His plans and will were not immediately revealed to Abraham. However, with confidence, Abraham walked with the Lord.
In this life, we can also imitate Abraham and remember that this pattern of life is embroidered little by little. The pattern of our lives will also be formed gradually as we walk step by step through time and opportunity, answering God's call day by day.
Today’s devotional
1. What is our attitude in seeking God's will in our life?
2. What might happen if we rush through our life’s embroidery?
Today’s actions
Keep going step by step in God's plan. It is better to be in His direction (even though it is slow) than to be outside of His will.

Faithfulness and perseverance are very important in spiritual life. God wants us to be faithful in both small and big things. God also wants us to live perseveringly so that we can become more perfect before Him.
