[Christ Manifested in Us] Part 2Àpẹrẹ
The Faith of the Son
There is a human faith that all people have, even atheists. It’s the human faith that is based on knowledge of things. For example, if I get on a plane, I get on thinking that it’s going to fly; I have no doubt. Everyone who gets on a plane has faith that it’s going to fly thousands of miles, transport the passengers, and land at its destination. When passengers are flying, some begin to read and others fall asleep quietly, but no one is seriously thinking, “This plane is going to crash!” Everyone has faith that the plane is going to fly and reach its destination based on natural knowledge. Passengers simply know that the plane will fly, even if they don’t understand how. Divine faith is not required to believe that a plane will fly. That faith is not big or small; it’s just natural faith.
There is another type of faith with a divine origin, such as Abraham’s faith when God told him, “I have made you the father of many nations.” God, who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not as if they were, called him Abraham, father of many nations, when Abraham had no children. Abraham dared to call himself the same name God called him. He believed God and called the things that were not as if they already were.
We, like Abraham, can call ourselves as God calls us. God calls you perfect, son of God, just, mighty, wise, chosen, blessed with everything, predestined, heir of God, reigning in life, sealed with the Spirit, holy, without stain, and set apart for His eternal purpose. Your name is as God says it is, even if your natural eyes don’t see much evidence of what He declares. You believe it, even if in the present you perceive different things in your soul.
Natural faith can only believe what it perceives with the senses. Divine faith calls the things that have never been seen and declares them as real beforehand. Thus operates God’s divine faith; we cannot perceive the truth of the spirit with the senses, but we believe in things that we have not yet seen with our eyes. We see them within.
The faith of the Son in us believes what God speaks about who we are in Him—Christ. Christ will be manifested in us by faith. Amen!
