Joshua - Inheritance

Compare Joshua's division of the Land to Ezekiel's division.

  • Joshua's division makes sense from man's perspective - Ezekiel's division makes sense from God's perspective.
  • Joshua's division is the best man can accomplish - Ezekiel's map is a picture of the total and complete work of God.

God promised the Land to Israel, and He also promised them rest. He did this in spite of their rebellion. These are things only God can perfectly accomplish.

God calls us to abundant life in Jesus with every spiritual blessing, but Jesus did not come to make us better versions of ourselves as if some part of our rebellious nature could be salvaged.

The work of Christ is to allow us to die to ourselves so that the Holy Spirit can live the Christian life through us.

Challenge:

  • Memorize Ephesians 1:3
  • How is the Holy Spirit living the Christian life through you?

Joshua - Inheritance

Joshua and the Israelites were given a Promised Land inheritance. God gave it to them when He made a covenant with Abraham in Genesis 15. We also have a promised inheritance. This week we will explore the Spiritual inheritance we have in Jesus. A promise worth fighting for. This heavy-duty stand-alone plan is also part 8 of a 10 part series.
