What is your greatest fear?

For many people, ironically, their greatest fear in life, is death. This stems from the uncertainty of what happens after they die. Thankfully, as Christians, we do know! We have a great prospect: after our earthly bodies pass away, we get to spend eternity with Jesus.

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” – John 5:24

The key to this promise is simple–believe. Have faith that Jesus died for you and that His sacrifice on the cross was sufficient to save you from your sins.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23

“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” – Romans 5:8-9

Believing in Jesus means exchanging your fear of death for faith in the Life (John 14:6).

Friend, are you sure about where you are going after you die?

Romans 10:9-10 says:

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

If you have never professed your faith in Jesus, let this be your moment! Pray this prayer:

“Lord Jesus, I need You in my life. I recognise that I am a sinner in need of Your forgiveness. I believe that You are the Son of God, died on the cross for my sins and rose again. Thank you for bearing my sins, and I gratefully receive the gift of eternal life. Come into my heart, I surrender my life to You. Amen”
