Faith vs Fear

DAY 3 OF 7

I once heard someone say, “Fear cannot exist in the presence of faith,” and while that sounds holy, I don’t believe it’s true.

Nowhere in the Bible does it suggest that fear is a lack of faith or that faith replaces fear. What it does say, however, is that:

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” – 1 John 4:18

As we saw yesterday, God invites us to release our fears and receive His perfect love instead. My friend, God says to you today, “If there is still fear in your heart, come to me, and I will fill you with so much love that it will drown out the fear.”

Removing fear from your heart is not your responsibility–it’s God’s. All you need to do is admit, “God, I am afraid. Help me.” Then you have the choice: trust in your fear or trust in God.

In Psalms 56:3, David says:

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise” – Psalms 56:3

Bible teacher Charles Spurgeon writes about this passage:

“David says, “I am afraid.” Admire his honesty in making this confession. Some men would never have admitted that they were afraid. They would have blustered and said they cared for nothing! Generally there is no greater coward in this world than the man who never will acknowledge that he is afraid.”

We continue our journey of surrendering our fears to God and receiving His blessings instead. Ask God again today to reveal any hidden fears in your heart. Admit them to Him. He is not angry or disappointed with you but desperate to fill your heart with His love that drives out fear.

Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
