7 Powerful Prayers for Your Kids

DAY 5 OF 7

Prayer for Provision

We want our kids to have everything they need. Even if we can't provide it for them, we can trust God to provide.

God has so many promises in his Word about providing for our and our children's needs. When we teach our kids to seek God first, Matthew 6:33 says He will add everything we need. Philippians 4:19 promises that God will provide for all of our needs from his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

This provision may not look how we thought, asked, or prayed for. We want our kids to have more than we did, but sometimes, the way God provides for them will be different or much later than we hope.

Trusting God to provide for our children, whether they are two, twenty, or forty-two, takes faith that he has their best interests at heart. He may be working on them or their character in ways we cannot see. Sometimes, he may allow them to go through financial difficulties or live with the consequences of their actions.

This is painful to watch as their parents.

Our part is to keep praying, trusting, and remembering that God loves our kids even more than we do. God's got them. And His promises are the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Prayer for Provision: Father God, thank you for providing for every need ___________ has. Thank you that they have food to eat, shelter over their heads, and enough of everything. Don't let them stray from you when things get difficult. Please show me how to model seeking you first so they will do the same. Help me trust that you provide for our every need from your riches in glory in Jesus. Bless my kids with your favor, and let them look to you as their one true source for every need. Thank you for your promise to take care of my kids! In Jesus' name, amen.
