Book of Luke

DAY 2 OF 8

THE POWER OF THE LORD

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” (Luke 4:18-19).

After Jesus was baptized, He was brought to the desert for 40 days and tempted by the devil. Jesus overcame the temptation and the Bible records that after that time, Jesus ministered to people who came to Him by the power of Holy Spirit. Many people experienced healing, deliverance, and salvation.

When someone receives the Lord Jesus as his personal Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit dwells in him. The Spirit of God, who is the Holy Spirit in Jesus, is the same Holy Spirit given to us. Therefore, we need to understand that the Holy Spirit is not only given to us to comfort us and to be our best friend. The Holy Spirit is also given to us to reveal the authority of His power, to proclaim freedom to those under bondage and imprisoned by the power of the evil one, to heal those who are sick, to open the eyes of those who are spiritually blind, and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.

If every believer realized this power, the churches of God would rise up and many souls would be harvested for the Kingdom of God.

When we walk in the POWER OF GOD, we are going to experience God’s care, protection, and providence.
