PRAYER SHAKES THE WORLD
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” (Matthew 18:19-20 NIV)
Our God is an omnipresent God who cannot be limited by space and time. He is the Almighty God and no one can obstruct His Word. He is the all-knowing God and nothing can be hidden before Him. He knows our thoughts. Many times, when Jesus met the teachers of the law, Jesus already knew their evil thoughts that wanted to trap Him.
So, if our thoughts are known by God, that means all our intentions and motivations are also known by Him. Is there any wrong intention or hypocrisy among us? We can disguise ourselves and be hypocrites before men, but we cannot hide things from God.
As we pray together with our prayer partners, have we sincerely prayed in unity with them? Do not keep any negative feelings or thoughts towards our prayer partners. God is more interested in unity or oneness of heart among us than the content of our prayers. No matter how good the words that are used in our prayers, if we do not have a spirit of unity, our prayers will be in vain.
Unity talks about having one mind, like Christ’s. Do not keep hatred towards others in your heart so that God will be present in your prayers. Prayers in unity will shake the world. Prayers in unity will cause the power of darkness to run away and flee because the devil does not like unity among believers.
Prayers in unity will shake the world.
