Book of 1 Samuel

DAY 4 OF 10

TO BE A DIFFERENT PERSON

Saul was born from a wealthy family who had a good business. Nevertheless, he was not educated and raised to be a king for the Israelites. God arranged everything so that Saul was appointed as king. The Lord has the power to lift up and to demote someone as the power is in the hand of the Lord.

At that time, someone was officially appointed as a king after he had received anointing from a prophet. After Saul was anointed by prophet Samuel, the Bible says that the power of God started to work in his life. The Holy Spirit filled him. What happened to Saul after he received the anointing and the fullness of the Spirit of God? He became a different person. It means there were changes in Saul that came from the Lord with the purpose to expand Saul’s capacity as a leader: his way of thinking, doing things and speaking was different from the past.

When we are filled by the Spirit of God, the power of the Holy Spirit is going to work and change us to be different people. Only God is able to change us. The Holy Spirit will bring us to holy and righteous matters.

When the Spirit of God leads our lives, our lives will be changed.
