Day 7: Nick Gaggero, Levite at UPPERROOM
Romans 13-14
The entire law is fulfilled in one word, one man, one action, one opportunity, one response: LOVE.
Romans 13:8 says, "Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law."
There are 3 questions that we can ask ourselves on a daily basis to be able to fulfill this ultimate commandment: What is love? Who is love? Where is love?
1. What is love?
Love is an opportunity, the overflow of fellowship with God, the fruit of communion with God. Love is a choice to extend grace, understanding, honor, and respect to one another in every situation and circumstance life presents. Love is trusting Jesus' leadership.
2. Who is love?
God is love! Love is a person. His name is Jesus! Love is the Father sending his Son, Jesus, for you and me. To teach us how to live, to teach us how to die to ourselves, to show us the way to the Father, and to give us the Holy Spirit.
3. Where is love?
Love is found in communion with God, prayer, worship, and His Word. If we look at life through the lens of love, the opportunity to "love" is everywhere! Love should be the response to everything. Especially when we are wronged or when we see injustice in this world. Love is the strongest when we see injustice and when we disagree with things that are happening around us. He can do so much more when we choose love! I mean, look at what Jesus did with death. He turned it into the greatest gift to mankind! Salvation!
Prayer: Lord, I pray that this invitation to love would be present in every moment of my life - family, friendships, finances, politics, dreams, and desires. Jesus, teach me how to love like You. Amen.
