It's Time to Plant

DAY 2 OF 10

First Law: Everything Starts With A Seed.

There is an old adage that says anybody can count the seeds in an apple, but only God can count the number of apples in a single seed. No one can tell how far a seed will go. Seeds are powerful. Everything starts with a seed. Chairs, cars, houses, and shoes started as a seed in someone’s mind. You started as a seed. Seeds are ideas, convictions, habits and so on. You can also sow seeds of hatred, jealousy, and envy. The truth is that everything in your life is in existence by seeds planted by someone else and seeds planted by you.

The question is, do you want the kind of fruit that will grow from the kind of seeds you are planting? If you don’t want it, then stop planting the seed. Why? It is because all you can do is plant the seed. You cannot determine the outcome of that seed. The outcome of the seed is determined when the seed is planted. The seed will only produce the same kind of plant and tree that it came from.

Do you want the kind of fruit that will grow from the seed “they” are planting in your life? “They” represents other people, your phone, social media, television shows, streaming platforms, etc. “They” are planting seeds in your life. Do you want the kind of fruit that these seeds will produce? Everything starts with a seed. That is why seeds are so powerful. When a seed is sown, you don't see anything. So, while nothing appears to be happening in the physical. The seed has the power to bring to birth everything that is already coded in it. Therefore, the best time to get rid of a future tree or forest that you don't want in your life is to uproot the seed.

I pray, in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that every negative seed that has been deposited in your life will be uprooted. Even seeds that were deposited by genetic coding, God can reverse, like He did for Jacob. God can uproot negative seeds and plant His own seeds in you. Even with the positive seeds, when you sow the seed of prayer, for example, it seems as if nothing is happening. But guess what? The seed has been sown. Keep on praying because as surely as day follows night, your harvest will come in the Name of Jesus.

And because everything starts with a seed, it is important to note that growth takes time. Have you ever been in a hurry to get out of a season in your life, and it seems like God is taking His time? It can be frustrating. But growth is happening, and God wants you to grow. Though what you have is a seed, your future is a forest.

What seeds do you need to plant?
What seedlings do you need to uproot?

Take 5: Talk to God in prayer about your takeaway from today’s reading.

About this Plan

It's Time to Plant

Right from the beginning, in the creation story, God shows us a pattern which contains a huge lesson. And this lesson continues throughout the Bible. Jesus shows up on the scene and points to this same lesson. As long as heaven remains, seed time and harvest will continue. This plan focuses on seed, planting, and watering. A key principle of the kingdom of God and therefore, to every believer after God’s heart.
