God's Redemption Story (Revelation)

DAY 18 OF 40

We Are in a Spiritual Battle - Day 18

Revelation is not intended to be linear like a history book. It’s more like a dream where you see images that may appear jumbled at first glance but are actually meaningful facts. One of those critical facts is Revelation 12:17. The devil isn’t a funny little red guy with horns and a pointy tail who sits on your shoulder and tells you to do dumb stuff. Satan is a raging dragon who has waged war on Jesus and his followers.

On the spiritual battlefield, Jesus Christ is our only defense. Many of us check in with Jesus on Sunday morning just to be sure he’s still there, and then we navigate the rest of the week on our own. Most of the time, we trudge through the hardships and hangups, wondering where God is in all the mess. If we want to live victorious lives, we need Jesus by our side at every moment. We need to be talking to him before the battle heats up so we know the battle plan and are ready to watch Jesus take action. Let’s start this day and the next by meeting with the one we know will defeat our enemy!
