God's Redemption Story (Revelation)

DAY 20 OF 40

We Are in a Spiritual Battle - Day 20

As wimpy little humans, we are poorly equipped to fight an enemy like Satan. He knows how to push our buttons, how to get our eyes off Jesus, and how to make us fight the wrong battle. So, what defense do we have against him? Revelation 12:10–11 gives us the only two weapons that can defeat him.

First, the blood of the Lamb, that is, Jesus’s death and resurrection, paid the price for our sins and gave us life instead of death. Because of Jesus’s work on the cross, we can tell Satan to take a hike while we live a life of victory.

Second, the word of our testimony points other people to that same victory. Every time we tell someone about the work of Jesus in our life, that person has the opportunity to escape the clutches of the enemy. Every time we proclaim the truth of Jesus, the lies of the enemy are exposed. Every time we shine the light of Jesus, the darkness that the enemy uses to blind the world is pushed back.

Is the enemy getting on your nerves today? Start talking about the blood of the Lamb!
