What Was I Made For?Sample
VIDEO TRANSCRIPT BELOW
Have you ever been embarrassed by something small? Maybe you wore the wrong gym shoes, walked into the wrong class by accident, or tripped in a public place. Those things may seem small, but they certainly feel like a big deal when they happen to us. Why? Because, even over the simplest things, it’s hard to face criticism or judgment from other people. Paul, the writer of the letter to the Galatians in the Bible, tells us that’s what following Jesus can feel like. It’s not that we’re embarrassed or ashamed; it’s just that we’ll face disapproval from the world as we try to follow the path that God calls us to walk. But when following God starts to feel like an unpopular decision, remember that people's approval is temporary; it changes constantly. But when we do things that please God, that changes us forever!
This week, talk to your Small Group Leader, a trusted friend, or a trusted adult about how you can take steps to listen to God's voice above the noise of the world around you.
