Love God to the end
Jesus' contemporaries counted 613 commandments of God in the Torah. 248 COMMANDMENTS and 365 PROHIBITIONS. They tried to integrate these into their lives as best they could in order to stand before God. A noble but perhaps also overstraining task. When God's Son came into the world, He did not bring a new religion with Him. Jesus summarized all the commandments in two sentences quite simply: Love God with all your heart, soul, and strength. And love your fellow man as yourself (Mark 12:30-31). He made it clear what God is really about. About relationships. God wants a love relationship with everyone. And God desires that we also live and act in love with one another.
With His death on the cross and His resurrection, Jesus created all the conditions for this. We are reconciled with God through the blood of Jesus. And through His Holy Spirit we are able to love even our enemies. Love for God and love for people. It is as simple as that. And sometimes maybe the simple part is so hard.
Shortly before His ascension, Jesus gave us another commission: if we have experienced this love from God, we are now to pass it on. He wants everyone to know about this love.
Jesus is coming again soon. The only reason He is delaying this day is because of His boundless love. All people and generations are to hear about God's love for us people and also experience it in a very practical way through us believers.
ACTION STEP
How can you consciously meet people in the love of God? Think about which people from your family, your job, your free time you will meet today? Choose 3 people and ask yourself how God sees them and what He thinks about them. How could He use you today to show His love to these people? Let Jesus use you today to pass on His love in a practical way.
About this Plan
We want to be closer to Jesus. We want more of Jesus. We have had enough of the average and need a new momentum in our life with God. This is exactly what Jesus radically gave everything for. In the messages, we will discover creative, challenging and practical ways to radically and uncompromisingly give ourselves and our lives to Jesus.
