Do not be afraid of bad days
Even Jesus' disciples had a great desire for Jesus to come again as soon as possible. They asked Him when it would be. Since then, so far over 2000 years, we believers, the Church, the Bride, have been waiting for His return. Jesus has been clear about this waiting time, and He does not hide the fact that it will be very difficult.
Unfortunately, it is naive to believe in the goodness of man, progress, and development. According to the biblical testimony, the situation in the world is not getting better, but there are always new wars, disasters, and tragedies. Jesus says that we should nevertheless not let ourselves be determined by fear. God is not oblivious of anything that goes on in world history, and Jesus is and remains in control. So, we should be characterized by fearlessness and not by creating panic.
Unfortunately, there is no time of rest for the bride of Jesus either. It would be nice if the waiting time was only a romantic, dreamy phase in which we transfigured and only had to wait for Jesus. This is not how Jesus describes it. On the contrary. Pressure, disadvantages, exclusion, persecution, and condemnation will increase for us believers. Already now, more Christians are persecuted and killed all over the world than ever before. According to Jesus, each of us should be prepared to be hauled into court just for believing in God. Maybe that's an awful notion for you. However, what is exciting is what Jesus promises. Again, we have nothing to worry about. The Holy Spirit will certainly help us stand up for Jesus and guide us in what to say.
ACTION STEP
What message from the news worries you the most at the moment? Turn your worries and fears into prayer: right now, pray for the people directly affected and invoke God's blessing and comfort in these situations.
Then ask God for courage and opportunities to speak of what Jesus means to you in your daily life.
About this Plan
We want to be closer to Jesus. We want more of Jesus. We have had enough of the average and need a new momentum in our life with God. This is exactly what Jesus radically gave everything for. In the messages, we will discover creative, challenging and practical ways to radically and uncompromisingly give ourselves and our lives to Jesus.
