Through the Bible: NumbersSample
Emmanuel – God With Us
With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
Numbers 12:8 (NIV)
We find the pressures of being a leader weighing heavily on Moses as he had to constantly face the complaints of the Israelites and had to intercede with the Lord on their behalf.
Right through the journey in the wilderness prior to this as well we see the Lord constantly being with and supporting Moses in every situation.
When Miriam and Aaron talked against Moses, we see the Lord himself coming down and admonishing them for speaking against their God-appointed Leader.
Isn’t it heartening and reassuring to see that when you are in the centre of God’s will, there is no better person than God Himself to be your defendant? It takes courage to remain in the centre of God’s will, but when we do make that choice, the rewards are high, as the Lord promises to be with us and strengthen us. Throughout the Bible, we find instances where those that chose to remain in the centre of God’s plan always experienced the hand of the Lord upon them and realised that there is no better person than the Lord Himself to take them through it. He is still Emmanuel, God with us.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, no matter how difficult or uncertain the situation may look like, help me to always choose to be in the centre of Your will, for I know that You are always by my side and strengthening me to get through it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan
The book of Numbers, as the Hebrew name suggests, is the Israelites’ travelogue in the wilderness, from Mount Sinai to the plains of Moab, right before entering the Promised Land. Because of the Israelites’ disobedience, the 11-day journey turned to 40 years! But rest assured, God always restore His people to the place of blessings as soon as we return to Him. Come journey through Numbers with us.
