DAY 5 OF 14

The Privilege to be Set Apart for God

Take the Levites from among all the Israelites and make them ceremonially clean.  To purify them, do this: Sprinkle the water of cleansing on them; then have them shave their whole bodies and wash their clothes. And so they will purify themselves.
Numbers 8:6,7
For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession.
Deuteronomy 14:2

The Levites are a beautiful picture of You and I. Like the Levites, we are redeemed, cleansed, and set apart as the firstborn for the service to our Lord. By their example, the Levites were a symbol of the godly separation of believers from the world. Today all believers are a priest likes the Levites in Old Testament.

Jesus is the lamb of God who cleansed us so that we are righteous before a holy God through our faith. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

Prayer:

Abba Father, thank You that we are chosen before the foundation of this world to be wholly set apart for You. May we abide in You and be guided by Your Word and Your Spirit. We desire to remain close to You at all times and not separate ourselves from Your protection and will. Help us to be in this world and not of this world. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Numbers

The book of Numbers, as the Hebrew name suggests, is the Israelites’ travelogue in the wilderness, from Mount Sinai to the plains of Moab, right before entering the Promised Land. Because of the Israelites’ disobedience, the 11-day journey turned to 40 years! But rest assured, God always restore His people to the place of blessings as soon as we return to Him. Come journey through Numbers with us.
