Extended Memorization Of Scripture: 2 PeterSample

Extended Memorization Of Scripture: 2 Peter

DAY 3 OF 62

Simon Peter greets us in these verses, speaking to us today by the power of the Holy Spirit after almost two thousand years of church history. This man was a fisherman called by grace to leave his nets and follow Jesus. Jesus shaped him into a "fisher of people." Though he was far from perfect, under the transforming grace of Christ, Peter became a foundation stone (along with the other apostles) for the faith of all Christians who would follow him.

Peter greets you as a believer in Christ and says your faith has given you equal standing with him in Christ! How incredible! By this grace, Peter was saved from his sins, and you also are saved from yours, since you trust in Jesus Christ.

Peter begins by asking God that grace and peace may be multiplied to you, especially through the ministry of the written word that you are beginning to memorize. By this means, he yearns for you to know God and Jesus our Lord better and better.

Today, recite yesterday’s verse, 2 Peter 1:2, ten times, being sure to include the verse number. Again, you should look at the screen if you need to refresh your memory. Old verses next, altogether: Recite 2 Peter 1:1-2 together once, being sure to include the verse numbers.

Now, recite your new verse. Read 2 Peter 1:3 out loud ten times, looking at each word as if photographing it with your eyes. Be sure to include the verse number. Then cover the screen and recite the verse ten times.
