Extended Memorization Of Scripture: 2 PeterSample
Peter had a special privilege, along with the other Twelve Apostles. They were “eyewitnesses of his [Jesus’] majesty” (v. 16). Their eyewitness testimonies of his life, death, and resurrection are vital to the faith of all the generations of Christians that would follow.
Peter speaks in this section about seeing a powerful foretaste of Christ’s heavenly glory on the Mount of Transfiguration (see Matt. 17:1-8).
Recite yesterday’s verse, 2 Peter 1:16, ten times, being sure to include the verse number. Again, you should look in the screen if you need to refresh your memory. Old verses next, altogether: Recite 2 Peter 1:1-16 together once, being sure to include the verse numbers.
Now, recite your new verse. Read 2 Peter 1:17 out loud ten times, looking at each word as if photographing it with your eyes. Be sure to include the verse number. Then cover the screen and recite the verse ten times.
