Lifting Point 

One day, we had been to a star hotel where the Manager welcomed us with utmost politeness. The staff working under him were taking orders from the customers. The waiters working under them brought the food we had ordered. That day, the hotel was unusually very crowded. We were watching all the workers while waiting for our food to arrive. One of them received the customers at the door. Another took orders and hastened to bring the food. When some customers finished dining, all the four grades of staff cleared the plates without any discrimination. While cleaning the tables, the manager also gave a helping hand. Thus, they were able to satisfy all the customers without any delay. Otherwise, it would have been utter chaos. 

My friend, when I saw this I was reminded of Paul’s letter to the Philippians’ church. Paul taught them about humility with Jesus Christ as the role model. Jesus humbled Himself in obedience to the Father even to the point of death on the cross. Even if you are in the highest position in your career, be humble enough to lend a helping hand to those who are working under you. It will increase productivity too. 

Prayer

“Loving heavenly Father, Your son Jesus has set us a great example for humility by humbling Himself to death on the cross, which He bore for others. Lord, give me the same mind as Jesus Christ that I may also not look into my own interests but also look into the interests of others. This I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
