Dependence 

During my college days, there was a student in my class who was very brilliant and would always get the highest mark in all the examinations. He would answer every question asked by the professors. But a very unfortunate event took place in his life. While he was writing his final exams, the supervisor hurried up to him and seized his answer paper. To our great surprise, many bits of papers with prepared answers fell down from the folds of his answer sheet. Even though he was a clever student, he lacked self-confidence; he had prepared these bits of answers putting his trust on them. This sinful action ruined his peace of mind and destroyed his whole career. Eventually, he lost everything in life. 

Yes, my friend, this is the case when you don’t have the fear of God and trust in yourself or your abilities. Be it marriage, business, job or studies, lean not on your own understanding but fear the Lord and turn away from evil. The fear of God comes through love for God. When you love God and give Him the top priority in your life, He will surely guide you and exalt you. He will unfold His plans for your life gradually. So, trust in Him and walk in His ways by which you will be honoured and fruitful. Depart from evil and let God rule over you. Lean only on Him and live a victorious life. 

Prayer

"Loving Lord, I pray that You alone will be exalted in my life. I commit my ways into Your mighty hands. You direct my path and lead me in righteousness. Let me not lean on my own understanding but rely on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
