Heaven and earth are opposites of each other. One is temporal while the other is eternal. One is filled with sin while the other is pure, true, right, and perfect. Focusing on earthly things will draw us away from God. It will cause us to be consumed with material belongings and temporal difficulties. But by focusing on heavenly things we will find the wisdom we need to live in this word but not be of it. We will have our faith strengthened and joy and peace restored. These are things that no man can take from us.
