Shine Like Stars: Devotions From Time of GraceSample
A Witness That Shines
One of my most painful high school memories is the time I begged a ride from my parents to a basketball game and then promptly ditched them as soon as we were in the doors. Many wives can tell stories about being taken to a gathering of their husband's business associates and then ditched. As he goes around the room solo, she wonders if he is ashamed of her.
Does it surprise you to know that God wonders whether you are proud of him in the way you talk and the places you go? Can the people in your life detect that you are God's child, a royal priest, an heir of heaven?
St. Paul was a spiritual disaster until rescued by the Savior's call. He was a changed man: "I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace" (Acts 20:24).
