Jesus is the eternal Word—God made flesh.

Jesus wasn’t created—He has always existed. He is the Creator of everything. He is the eternal Word who spoke the world into being, gave breath to humanity, and holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). When we look at Jesus, we’re not just seeing a wise man or a miracle worker—we are seeing God Himself. John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory… full of grace and truth.”

Jesus deserves our deep respect because of how great He is. He existed before time began, yet He chose to become human. He walked where we walk, felt pain like we do, faced temptation, but never sinned. He is the Light that shines in the darkness, and no darkness can overcome Him (John 1:5). That means no sin, no fear, and no struggle is stronger than Jesus.

And what about His glory? It’s not cold or distant. His glory is full of beauty, kindness, and mercy. He didn’t come to bring judgment, but to show grace. He came to make us part of God’s family (John 1:12). That’s what makes Jesus so amazing—He lives in perfect holiness, but He came close to us because He loves us.

The eternal Word—Jesus—became human for us. He wants us to truly know God, not just in our minds, but in our hearts. He came to bring His light into our lives, adopt us as His children, and give us eternal life.

Respond to God’s Word:

Think about the truth that Jesus is not just someone sent by God—He is God. Write about what it means to you that the Creator of the world came into the world out of love for you. Let your heart respond in worship and awe. How does this truth shape the way you pray, trust Him, and live each day?
