The Gospel of John

DAY 30 OF 30

“I am Sending You.”

The final chapters of John are filled with awe, restoration, and calling. Jesus rises from the dead, proving once and for all that sin and death have been defeated. His appearance to Mary Magdalene, the disciples, Thomas, and finally Peter, reveals not only the reality of His resurrection but also His grace and purpose for those who follow Him.

Peter’s story is especially powerful. After denying Jesus three times, he must have felt disqualified from any further use by God. But Jesus meets him on the shore, cooks him breakfast, and lovingly restores him. Three times Jesus asks, “Do you love me?”—and with each “yes,” He commissions Peter: “Feed my sheep.” Jesus wasn’t finished with Peter—and He’s not finished with you either.

Salvation doesn’t just mean forgiveness—it means being sent. Jesus tells them, “As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.” The gospel isn’t just good news to receive; it’s good news to share.

If you’ve accepted Jesus, you’ve also accepted His mission. We’re not saved to sit still—we’re saved to go. Your story, your transformation, and your love for Jesus are meant to be shared. And that sharing doesn’t always mean preaching from a pulpit. It may look like a conversation over coffee, a word of encouragement, an invitation to church, or a post on social media that points to Christ.

Every believer has a part to play in God’s mission. You’re not disqualified because of your past or being too ordinary to make a difference. The same Jesus who restored Peter also empowers you to love, lead, and share the good news.

Respond to God’s Word:

Ask God how He wants to use you today to share the gospel. Is there someone you can text, pray for, or invite into a deeper conversation? Write down one specific action you’ll take today to obey that prompting. Remember, to be saved is also to be sent. Let the resurrection of Jesus launch you into His mission.
