Why People Lose the KingdomSample

Why People Lose the Kingdom

DAY 9 OF 9

A HARDENED HEART

MAIN IDEAS

• If none of the miracles and teachings of Jesus managed to lead the religious leaders to faith, then His Resurrection surely should have.

• Still, their hardened heart made them reject the Kingdom of God. It so happened that, instead of believing, they preferred to bribe the soldiers who were guarding the tomb, telling them to confess that they were not able to fulfill their mission properly.

• A hardened heart does everything it can to reject faith.

On receiving the news that JESUS is resurrected, the religious leaders who had Him crucified did not for a moment stop and think that they might have been wrong and regret their deeds, turning back to God. They did have the chance to do this, but their heart was so hardened that they continued in their madness and paid the soldiers guarding the tomb a lot of money in order to lie about having been witnesses to His Resurrection. They were not swayed by the miracles that JESUS performed and they were not convinced by His Incredible and Powerful Teachings; not even His Resurrection had any effect on them.

When a man’s heart hardens, nothing can convince him anymore. He will only search for arguments in favor of his disbelief, rejecting any argument for faith from the start. The best thing we can do when we are dealing with a hardened heart is to stop any discussion and entrust that person to GOD. He is the only One who can transform a hardened heart and many times, a miracle is needed.
