Pray for JapanSample

After the spies who had been sent out by Israel searched out Canaan for forty days, they came back to report to the assembly and to Moses and Aaron. Of the twelve who had been sent out, ten of them reported that it would be impossible to conquer Canaan.
Even though God had so obviously guided the nation through the perilous desert, divided the Red Sea, and revealed himself in the pillar of fire at night, and in the hovering cloud during the day, still they rebelled, focusing on the seemingly impossible challenge ahead. The people who listened to the bad report of the ten spies were dismayed and wanted to die. Caleb and Joshua had an altogether different perspective and great faith. They had seen the same land that the other ten had seen. They had seen the big, strong people in Canaan, the beautiful nature, and how humanly impossible it seemed to conquer this land. The difference was that they looked to God, not to their own power. They knew that with God`s help, anything would be possible. They knew that for what God had planned, he would also provide power to accomplish the task.
So, when we pray, will we focus on what we can do humanly speaking, or will we focus on what God has said he will do? In the Bible, we find many promises that can help us to pray in faith. Let us be people who are like Joshua and Caleb, who bring reports from God`s perspective. Let us pray like Joshua and Caleb with faith in our Almighty God.

About this Plan

Our own prayer life is often focused around our own needs. In these devotionals, you will get the opportunity to pray for something important outside of yourself. When Jesus taught his diciples to pray, he gave them "Our Father." One of the prayers are "Your kingdom come." Let's pray together for Japan, which is an unreached nation. Prayer is a key to reaching the nations, and here you can help make a difference!
