Memorizing Your BibleSample

Memorizing Your Bible

DAY 6 OF 7

Memorizing Scripture isn’t easy. It takes time and discipline. Some days will feel harder than others—that’s completely normal. You’re training your “memory muscle,” and at first, that can cause some “muscle pain.”

But you’re doing great! We’re already on Day 6—just a little longer to go!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT

The early Christians were incredibly strong in memorization and knew the Scriptures well. If you carefully read the first chapters of Acts, you’ll be amazed at their deep knowledge of God’s Word. They didn’t just know what was written, but also where it was written! What an inspiration and challenge for us as 21st-century believers!

Read Acts 4:23-26 today. You’ll see how they naturally quoted from Psalm 2.

The verse for today is:

Psalm 1:5 – “Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the

assembly of the righteous.”

CHALLENGE OF THE DAY

● First, recite verses 1 to 4 once.

● Now, read verse 5 out loud 10 times while following along carefully.

● Then, recite today’s verse 10 times without looking.

Tip:

Be strict with yourself! Make sure you know the text word for word exactly as it is written. Here’s something that helps: Imagine that next month, you’ll have to recite this psalm for someone—maybe for your Bible study group or even your entire church! If you had to do that, you’d want to know it perfectly!

If you ever wake up in the middle of the night, try reciting everything you’ve learned so far. I promise you’ll wake up the next morning feeling encouraged!
