Someone Else's World

DAY 7 OF 20

"...to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God..." John 1:1-15 ESV

Through our belief in Christ Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He has given us the birthright to become children of God. The greatest gift we can receive is knowing we belong to Our Heavenly Father. We are His in Christ - forever.

But our faith was never meant to be alone and in isolation. Our faith was meant to turn into family - the church. Brothers and sisters under one Lord. I believe that is the significance of Jesus saying, "Our Father," not "My Father." He is MY Father. But His love is so much bigger than that. It is so big that it is a cohesive, collective family expressed in the OUR language.

Not only is God helping us to rewrite our idea of Fatherhood but also of family itself. How comforting to know that we are not locked into our (or someone else's) world of experiences, actions, and words. When we are in Christ, He rewrites and restores the original design of the Garden Kingdom.

THINK ABOUT IT:

1. What qualities of family should we see and bring to our brothers and sisters in Christ?

2. Why is it so significant that Christ declares OUR Father...not just my Father?

PRAYER PROMPT:

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.

About this Plan

Someone Else's World

What if we traded our little worlds for the Eternal Kingdom, now and to come? Walk with us, line by line, through the Lord's Prayer as we begin to release our grip on how we think we should live and embrace how Jesus wants us to live.
