The Promise of His Presence
Sometimes, we may question God's presence in our lives—wondering if He is with us, if He truly hears us, and if He answers us. The beautiful truth is yes! God’s Word reveals fifty verses where the Father and Jesus promise their unwavering presence. In 1 Corinthians 6:19, Paul says that the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives in you and makes you a temple of the Holy Spirit. This assurance to you is that not only is He with you, but He also dwells within you.
Sometimes, our minds tell us, “If you can’t see Him, He must not be there.” But we can perceive Him—not with our eyes, but through others and all His magnificent creations across the heavens and the earth. Remember, seeing Him requires faith. Faith is simply knowing that what you’re hoping for has happened, has already been acquired, and acting like it has been finished (Hebrews 11:1).
Your heart, mind, emotions, and will embody the true essence of who you are. The heart serves as the core of your being, holding your thoughts, feelings, desires, and intentions. You must guard your heart, the principal guide of your life (Proverbs 4:23). What better way to safeguard your heart than by inviting Jesus into it? In doing so, you gain the choice to listen to your own thoughts or His. You can follow your own will or embrace His. When you trust and walk with Him, you unlock the promises, including His enduring presence in you. He intimately knows what lies within you (Psalm 44:21).
In Hebrews 13:5, Jesus promises that He will never leave or fail you. This powerful assurance highlights the depth of God’s love for us. It reminds us that God is actively at work in our lives, especially during difficulties, even when trials and challenges persist. We can confidently declare that the Lord is our helper, and in His presence, we need not fear.
Know that the Father promises to more than just hear you and to listen to you. Know that He will answer your request and give you what you ask for, according to His will (1 John 5:14-15).
Reflection: Trust Him, knowing that He hears your prayers, answers them, and is always with you. Praise Him. He is always with you and will never abandon you. He is as close to you as the mention of His name.
