Revisiting My ServeSample
You Are Not Forgotten- Day One
It's a tough spot to be in, isn't it? Pouring your heart, time, and energy into serving the body of Christ, yet feeling like your efforts go unnoticed. The frustration, disappointment, and discouragement that follow are, unfortunately, familiar stories in many churches. Human nature has this inherent desire for recognition and appreciation, and when that's lacking, it's easy to contemplate quitting or seeking acknowledgment elsewhere.
But here's the game-changer, as the author of Hebrews wisely puts it, "For God is not unjust to forget your work." It's a powerful reminder that while people may overlook your contributions, God sees it all—the time, the effort, the love poured into His people. When our service is fueled by love, especially love for His name, it doesn't escape God's notice.
Overcoming the feeling of being forgotten involves a shift in perspective. Remember why you started serving in the first place—ultimately, to honor and please the Lord. While it's crucial for the body of Christ to be more aware and appreciative of those who serve, there will be times when recognition is scarce. But here's the silver lining: what we do is for God's glory, and He's the one who rewards us!
The author encourages us to stay faithful, even when others may have stopped serving. Focus on pleasing the Lord, even if the applause from others is missing. In the end, it's not your pastor or church leadership that will say, "well done.” The Lord hasn't forgotten your efforts. Keep going, for He knows what you've done for His glory!
PRAYER
"Lord, please remind me that my actions are meant to please and honor You alone. Give me the strength to not take the absence of appreciation personally but empower me to overcome this with the joy of serving You. Fill me with joy in my service, cultivating a desire to bless others above myself. In Jesus' name, amen.”

About this Plan
This devotional encourages us to reflect on our service to the Lord and engage in self-examination. How am I currently serving? Is serving others integrated into my daily life? What motivates me to serve? Over the next seven days, let's take time to evaluate our hearts and intentions regarding our acts of service.
