God’s Design – Made in God’s Image

God is the Creator of all things, but most importantly, he’s the Creator of you. Before you were even born, God knew you. He formed you in your mother’s womb. And he created plans for a beautiful life for you. You are not an accident. You are important and invaluable.

God’s design for girls is unique and wonderful. Genesis 1:27 says this, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

All of us bear the image of God. We all represent the unique qualities of God. And while we are different, we all have equal value in God’s eyes.

Obviously, girls are different from boys and thank God for that. Aside from the obvious physical and physiological differences, God has given girls and boys different primary roles and responsibilities. They complement one another as part of God’s perfect design for the family.

God has revealed the stories of remarkable women in the Bible who played incredible roles in the family, community, and as instrumental parts of God’s redemptive story. Women like Ruth, Esther, Tamar, Rahab, Rebekah, Jochebed (Moses’ Mom), Deborah, Mary Magdalene, Mary (Jesus’ Mom), Martha, and many more. Numerous stories highlight the virtue, faith, and devotion of women who were unnamed.Studying each of their stories is a must.

There are four beautiful facets of God’s design for girls, and all of them make girls strong – Beauty, Brains, Brawn, and Brilliance. Each of these facets is a unique expression of God’s perfect design for girls. That’s why it’s important for you to uncover God’s truth about each.

In this devotional, we will examine God’s perfect design for you as a girl. God’s ways are perfect. His design always brings life. The closer you get to living your life the way it’s designed, the more joyful, satisfying, and meaningful it will be.

We will use these facets to help you see the truth clearly. And, we’ll make these facets into targets to shoot for as you become everything God has made you to be.
