Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want (Psalm 23:1).
Do you rely upon the good shepherd to meet your every need?
God is the great provider; as the good shepherd, He cares for all your spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. The sacrificial Philippian church is told the following by Paul: “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19). You can fully trust the One who says, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep” (John 10:11). We can have confidence in His desire and ability to sustain us holistically. Because David understands God as his shepherd, he declares, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever” (Psalm 23:6).
Employment Point: Look to the heart and hand of the Good Shepherd to care for you.
About this Plan
Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
