The Gospel of MarkSample

Starting in verse 24 onward, we read about 2 beautiful examples of the power of intercessory
prayer and the healing power of Jesus. In both accounts, this Gentile woman whose daughter
had in her an unclean spirit AND the friend of a man who had both a speech impediment and
was deaf, we see these amazing testimonies of healings because they both sought out Jesus to
ask for healing on behalf of another. This is so huge! Both of these people were physically
unable to ask Jesus themselves, and it was only because of the faith and the people they love
that went to intercede on behalf of them that we have these testimonies. Healing and miracles
do not always get answered the way we hope, and this is not the only reason why we pray.
BUT I wonder how many more miracles and testimonies we would get to be a part of (in the
church and individual relationships) because we chose to step in and intercede on behalf of
others that may not have the faith yet to themselves.
