The Gospel of MarkSample
If we really believe that Jesus rose, it should change everything. However, we all know that none of us fully live up to the call to tell this good news. Even if we run away in fear at what it means to live in the light of Jesus' resurrection, we can have hope that the gospel will still go forth and that Jesus will show us mercy like he did by commissioning the disciples who had rejected the two accounts of his resurrection.
We can be confident that there are very good and compelling reasons to believe that Jesus rose. If we are going to stake our lives on this belief it is helpful that we know the reliability of the Bible and the probability of the events it describes so that we can give an apologia (Greek word for defence) of our faith.
Thank you so much for joining us for this study of Mark. As Mark intended, take some time to write down or pray about what you make of his account of Jesus. Did he rise? Was he the “Son of God” figure he claimed he was? If so, our lives should never be the same!
