Mothers You Are Not Alone!

DAY 2 OF 6

You Are More Than Just a Mother

Becoming a mother was the best thing I could ever experience. I wanted to be the best mom that ever existed for my children. That’s why I molded my identity around being an amazing mom. But each time, as each day passed with my newborn, I realized I was falling short of what I had envisioned for myself and my other goals.

Being a mother is only one aspect of who you are. Many mothers struggle with self-identity as they balance parental duties with personal and professional aspirations. It's essential to remember who you truly are beyond motherhood. By exploring self-awareness and pursuing personal and professional objectives outside of parenting, you will uncover a more enriched and purpose-driven life. Jeremiah 29:11 offers comfort: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” This verse highlights God's expansive plan for us as individuals and as mothers. You deserve to have hobbies and goals outside of your children’s lives. You grew and changed when you became a mother, but your inner self stayed the same. You just have to connect back to it and remember your values, goals, motivations, beliefs, purpose, and vision in life.

You can have goals in life other than just being a mother. Setting objectives in different aspects of your life paves the way toward a more balanced and comprehensive existence. Aligning your thoughts with purposeful intention propels your achievements forward.

It's also critical to realize that obstacles and delays only lead you to your actual purpose in God’s plan. Proverbs 19:21 reiterates this idea: “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” Trusting in God’s intent enables us to overcome obstacles with faith, knowing His divine plan will manifest in due course. Even though being a mother might be very demanding, it shouldn’t take away from your true identity. Establishing objectives for your relationships, profession, and personal development are all important components of a fulfilling life.

Although being a mother is certainly rewarding, taking the opportunity to pursue other objectives and aspirations can revitalize you and help you become a more inspired and present mother. Philippians 4:13 serves as a pillar of strength: “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

With this assurance, you’ll find the courage to pursue all your goals in life, trusting that God's strength will guide you through the journey of self-discovery and growth. Do what you would love to do! God will show you the way if you have faith in Him.

Never forget that you are more than just a mom, and you must nurture the other aspects of your life and yourself just as you want to nurture your children.
