Journaling Through LentSample
Remembering God’s Strength
In our previous devotion, we meditated on how God’s peace helps us feel anchored in tribulation. But God doesn’t just give us His peace to comfort us; He also gives us His strength that empowers us. His peace keeps us hopeful; His strength equips us to handle what we are going through.
There are many kinds of trials, and it’s easy to feel completely depleted and defeated by these challenges. I’ve had so many phases in my life where the battle I’m fighting makes me feel weary and weak. I have felt like I can’t carry on another day! But what a glorious promise God makes us in Isaiah 40, that in moments like that when we are at our lowest of lows, He will give us strength – His supernatural strength.
Today, take a few minutes to remember times when God’s strength was like the armor you wore through a tough time. Think of times that you would have given up if it weren’t for His Presence that went with you and gave you the power to plow through.
Journaling Prompt:
Depict the strength found in God. Use symbols and colors to convey the might and resilience derived from trusting in His power.
