Awaken the Giant Within

DAY 2 OF 5

Day 2: Decision-Making and Divine Guidance

Tony Robbins Quote: "It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped."

Scripture: Proverbs 16:3 - "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."

This moment is the culmination of EVERY decision of your life. This is where you are and this is what you have.

Whether you like it or not - this is you.

And, whether I like it or not - this is me.

You and I both know our decisions shape our destiny. However, the bigger dilemma becomes when you gaze down the road to look at your destiny.

The problem with decisions is when you don’t have a clear destiny you live aimlessly. Basically, you are living without a vision.

The Bible is very clear about vision. When you don’t have vision, you lack discipline.

When you lack discipline, your decisions become pathways to dead ends.

When was the last time you looked at your destiny as it pertains to the Lord and His plans for your life?

When I ask most clients about their destiny they either don’t know or spit back net worth figures, houses, and other vanity goals.

Stop right now what you are doing and ask yourself - “Where are my decision today taking me?”

How committed are you to the Lord’s plans in your life?

Please do not breeze past this question. This is a moment the Lord wants to have with you right now.

Let me ask it a different way.

Are you committed to the Lord, or your bills, mortgage, or even your family?

I know these are not easy questions. I know you probably don’t like them. However, this is where you are right now. This is what God is putting in front of you.

You may feel like I am being a bit strong on this one and let me share with you why.

I’ve worked for very powerful people and companies. While this can be a good thing, for me, I became more committed to my work than Jesus, period.

My value was so connected to my ego, it rose and fell like a six-flags roller coaster. When it was down, I tried to do more.

When it was good, I was usually inflated with pride. Look at me, and how awesome I am. Crap like that.

Do you know what finally happened?

I crumbled, and not like those decadent cookies my kids love so much.

My soul and life cratered. Imagine an internal Oppenheimer explosion.

I lost my job where so much of my identity was. I lost my home. I lost what savings I had. I lost my best friend.

If I had a dog at the time, I probably would have lost that too.

I was brought to my knees, again.

Just like the Israelites, I had slowly turned away from the Lord. It had happened before in my life, but not quite at this level.

My decisions were costing me. They were leading me to nowhere because I never had aligned my destiny with the Lord.

Absolute fool I was. Shattered I was. Humbled I was, and still am.

So, when I dig into this bit with you, I do it as if it’s a command from the Lord.

Maybe you have heard this all before, you probably have - that’s ok. I’m just a messenger as you begin to build a destiny that MATTERS.

My life is totally different now. Sure, I know my decisions matter, but what’s most important is committing to the Lord.

Committing to the Lord will be one of the hardest things you do this year. You will hate it. People and friends will think you are crazy.

However, you must decide - will you serve God or mammon?

Some more questions:

  • How can you seek God’s guidance in your daily decisions?
  • What decision do you need to make that requires trusting in God’s plan?
  • What are you avoiding? Who are you avoiding?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to seek Your wisdom in every decision and trust in the path You have for me. Amen.

Affirmation: "Today, I choose to make decisions guided by God’s wisdom and trust in His plan for my life."
