After the Bible, Tony Robbins has been a major voice in my life as it pertains to growth. There was a time when Tony’s voice was louder than the scriptures. That was a major flaw of mine.

The goal of this time together is to show you the power of God’s Word as the source of all wisdom. As much as I love and respect Tony, the scriptures are paramount in every area.

If you have ever read “Awaken the Giant Within” by Tony Robbins, you know how good and challenging it is.

My goal was to take as many of those challenges from Tony and direct you to where they can be discovered in God’s Word.

My prayer is for this time together to draw you closer to the Lord. Closer to spending more time with Him. He knows what you need and WHEN you need it.

He not only created the world, but He created you.

Day 1: Raising Standards with a Biblical Lens

Tony Robbins Quote: "Any time you sincerely want to make a change, the first thing you must do is to raise your standards."

Scripture: Philippians 3:14 - "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

In the heart of ancient Damascus, a transformation unfolded that would echo through history.

Saul, known for his fervent persecution of Christians, was struck by a divine encounter that would not only change his name to Paul but also his very essence.

This pivotal moment was more than a mere change of heart; it was a radical elevation of his life's standards.

Paul's journey from a feared persecutor to a devoted apostle of Christ exemplifies the essence of raising one's standards.

It wasn't just about adopting new beliefs; it was about setting higher spiritual and moral benchmarks and aligning his life with a heavenly calling.

Like Paul, we are called to elevate our lives.

You may have heard me say this before, but I’ll say it again, “what got you here will not get you there.”

This statement echoes both Tony’s quote above and God’s Word in that you will need to elevate your actions to elevate your results.

It’s easy to hear this and think about work or external efforts. You may be hearing, “I need to do more, to gain more.” While that may work to some degree, what I want you to ponder and talk to the Lord about is, “What spiritual standards need to be raised?”

The other day I was on a video call with a client when they were venting about some work issues. While I was listening intently to what they were sharing, I had this gentle pull to ask them a question.

After they shared their stories, I simply asked, “What is the Lord speaking to you about this?”

They were quiet for a moment, and then a flood of action items came forth.

I want to ask you this simple question right now, “If you were to raise your standards spiritually, what would that look like for you?

In your spiritual walk with the Lord, what don’t you want to do? What are you avoiding?

One of the most recent challenges the Lord was sharing with me was to consciously take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

When I reflected on that, I was like, “That is impossible Lord. How can I possibly do that?”

After more time with the Lord, I began to see ways how I could improve. I wasn’t going to be perfect, but I could see HOW to raise my standards.

Look, I know you want to grow. You know you want to grow. So do the things you know you need to do.

It’s that simple. Own it. Eat the frog. Do the hard stuff.

Not only will your standards be raised, but your life will be transformed.

When we raise our standards, we don't just change our actions; we change our very character.

We become more like Christ, reflecting His love, grace, and truth in every aspect of our lives.

This change is not always easy.

It requires courage, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of God's will. But the rewards are eternal.
