Greater JourneySample
GREATER PURPOSE
READY
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."-- Romans 8:28
SET
Having a purpose changes the dynamic of how we live. Trusting God with His plans and purposes for us is the key to living the victorious life He has planned. Choosing to live with unshakable faith for guidance takes commitment, discipline, and diligence. It is not the easiest journey, but it is the most rewarding. It is because of our position in Christ and our relationship with Him that we can be assured that all things work together for our benefit…not only today but eternally.
Commitment: "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act." Psalm 37:5
Discipline: "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." Hebrews 12:11
Diligence: "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9
The same pattern can be incorporated into our running or exercise activity as well. We must continue to trust that God is with us at all times. Our commitment, discipline, and diligence when training will help us prioritize His plan and purpose in our activities first without focusing on our own ability. His timing and purpose for us are perfect. Having the Lord as our support system will always help us handle the most difficult of challenges.
"Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails." Proverbs 19:21
GO
- When was the last time you prayed for God’s plan to be accomplished in your life?
- List the running/exercise goals you have planned and prayerfully ask God to take the lead, guiding you and helping you to accomplish them.
- Think of others you can encourage to put their complete trust in the Lord and in His purpose for their lives.
