Encountering JesusSample
DISCOVER:
Here we jump into the same story that we have read for the past three days, but today we read from another Gospel, which will help us gain new insight. As we dive into the text, our eyes fixate on five words in verse 8, "She did what she could." In these simple yet profound words, Jesus recognized Mary's action as a profoundly beautiful gesture.
LEARN:
What becomes evident is that Mary didn't just understand the concept of love; she embodied it. She comprehended Jesus' boundless love for her, and her response was not just to passively accept it but to serve, to translate her love into tangible acts of devotion. This moment reminds us that love is not merely a sentiment, but a force that finds its fullest expression when it is put into action, just as Mary did. It does not matter how big or small your act of service is; when it is done in obedience to the Lord, He uses it for our good and His glory.
APPLY:
Do you ever hesitate to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit in your daily lives? Embracing these divine promptings is a way to express your love for Jesus. Whether it is through maintaining a committed marriage, welcoming an adopted child into your family, participating in global missions, supporting a child in need, aiding the local homeless community, tutoring a young learner, or mentoring a young woman, our everyday actions can be powerful expressions of love. How can you incorporate these acts of obedience into your life this week?

About this Plan
Join us as we walk through seven encounters with Jesus. Just as Jesus transformed these individuals, the narratives of your shame, fear, guilt, and failure find redemption when met by the grace bought by His death on the cross. Your response to encountering Jesus has the power to transform the darkness of your story into a picture of grace, and redemption. How will you respond when you encounter Jesus?
