Encountering Jesus

DAY 37 OF 49

DISCOVER

Judas Iscariot, like the other disciples, witnessed the miracles, teachings, and love of Jesus. He was entrusted with a place among the twelve. Yet, in a heart-breaking turn of events, he allowed the influence of darkness to overpower him. Satan entered Judas, driving him to betray Jesus.

Learn

Jesus knew what was to come, and He willingly submitted Himself to this betrayal for the redemption of humanity. The chief priests, motivated by their own agenda, eagerly embraced Judas's offer, providing him with money in exchange for Jesus' location. Judas's betrayal was not only a personal tragedy but also a fulfillment of God's plan. In the betrayal of Judas, we find the backdrop for the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, leading to His crucifixion and the ultimate triumph of God's plan for salvation. This story points us to the profound love of God, who, even in the face of betrayal, offers redemption and grace to all who turn to Him in faith.

APPLY

As we reflect on this passage, it serves as a stark reminder of the choices we make and the influence we allow in our lives. It underscores the importance of staying rooted in faith, remaining constant in prayer, and a maintaining close relationship with Jesus. Let us take this moment to examine our own hearts, to ask God for His grace to guard us from the subtle deceptions of darkness and to help us remain steadfast in our devotion to Him.

About this Plan

Encountering Jesus

Join us as we walk through seven encounters with Jesus. Just as Jesus transformed these individuals, the narratives of your shame, fear, guilt, and failure find redemption when met by the grace bought by His death on the cross. Your response to encountering Jesus has the power to transform the darkness of your story into a picture of grace, and redemption. How will you respond when you encounter Jesus?
