DAY 7 OF 7

Day 7: The Revelation of the Word of God

Welcome to the final day of the Led by the Spirit plan! I hope that over the course of this plan you’ve learned something new or gained a deeper understanding of the important biblical principles we’ve discussed. On our 7th and final day, we’re discussing the Word of God.

The Bible, often referred to as the Word of God, is so important to our faith. His Word serves as the guardrails and guide lights to help us navigate our walk in communion with God. On our final day, we will explore key biblical verses that highlight the revelation of the Word of God as a foundational source of guidance and inspiration in our relationship with the Divine.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 - “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

These verses from 2 Timothy emphasize the divine origin and purpose of the Scriptures. The Word of God is described as “breathed out by God,” highlighting its divine authorship. It serves as a comprehensive guide for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness, equipping believers for good works. The revelation of the Word of God underscores its indispensable role in helping us navigate our communion with God.

Psalm 119:105 - “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

This verse from the book of Psalms portrays the Word of God as a guiding light. Just as a lamp illuminates a path in the darkness, the Scriptures illuminate our way as we walk with God. The Word of God serves as a constant source of direction and wisdom, ensuring that we stay on the right path.

Hebrews 4:12 - “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

The book of Hebrews presents the Word of God as a living and active force. It is described as sharper than a two-edged sword, capable of discerning the deepest thoughts and intentions of the heart. This verse highlights the transformative power of the Scriptures, revealing that it serves as guardrails by helping us distinguish right from wrong and providing insight into our innermost desires.

Psalm 19:7-8 - “The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.”

These verses from Psalm 19 illustrate the multifaceted impact of the Word of God. It revives the soul, makes the simple wise, brings joy to the heart, and enlightens the eyes. The Word of God is a source of renewal, wisdom, joy, and insight. As guide lights, it provides the necessary illumination to discern God’s will and understand the depths of His truth.

Matthew 4:4 - “But he answered, ‘It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

In this verse, Jesus, during His temptation in the wilderness, emphasizes the importance of every word that proceeds from God’s mouth. It conveys the idea that the Word of God is as essential to our spiritual sustenance as food is to our physical sustenance. The revelation of the Word of God as a source of spiritual nourishment underlines its role in guarding and guiding our communion with God.

The Word of God is a divine gift, a written record of God’s past revelations, and a guide for our communion with Him. The Bible serves as the guardrails, keeping us on the right path and protecting us from spiritual pitfalls. It also acts as our guide lights, illuminating our way and revealing God’s wisdom, truth, and will.
